Ambuya Development Center

Ambuya Development Center (ADC) is a Non-Governmental Organization formed in 2013 and focuses on Orphans and Vulnerable children, Disabled Children, Women and any poor person n the community. ADC is one of the ministries of Apokas. Several community development projects are run by this center including

a. After school feeding program for 350 children, secondary school tuition for 60 students, 4 college students and one University Student as of now. It takes $50,000 per year to run this project.

b. Water sanitation and hygiene projects - focus is on providing good and clean water that is not contaminated. The center has piped running water and we want to put 9 more in the community. Each system requires $35,000 to complete it.

c. Micro Finance project for the women - this requires around $15,000 yearly in building the capital.

d. Spiritual projects - Finishing of the Fellowship Hall would require $100,000, Leadership and discipleship training would require $15,000 per year while evangelism project would require $5,000 per year.

e. Environmental projects - as of now focus is on planting trees for energy and this requires $5,000 per year.

f. Health projects - These involve hygiene and sanitation projects, training of communities in public health, construction of a health unit ($150,000) nurses houses ($40,000) Ambulance ($50,000) and running administration costs of the health unit to the tune of $15,000 per year. All these are yet to be started.

g. Housing project - Due to cyclones that now have become a normal occurrence each year, houses of communities have been impacted badly because they are not durable. ADC has built and given houses to 35 Households at $10,000 each. As of now we want to complete the remaining 65 houses at a cost of $650,000.

h. Agriculture projects - this is a drought prone area and therefore people do not harvest much. ADC will construct a food store ($55,000) that will be used to store food during the harvest time and then sell it during the dry and food scarcity periods. New Innovations and seeds and some manure projects which require $16,000 will be pursued.

i. GIK projects - we will continue getting manna pack for children in addition to the local food that we give them, request school desks and chairs, blankets and clothes for the orphans and vulnerable children.

j. Women and Child abuse preventions projects are implemented in workshops every year and we need to have $10,000 every year to continue.

k. Sustainability projects - the desire was to find land in the outskates of town and build 20 two-bedroom houses and let them out as income for the center. This would require $200,000.

l. Relief projects - just a budget of $5,000 would help do community resilience projects per year for there are many villages.
